Our Vision

The vision of Lumina Christian University is to cultivate a Missional Identity, empower a Missional Life, and fulfill a Missional Destiny for Christ’s light. 

The mission of Lumina Christian University is to provide biblically centered, missionally focused education that equips leaders to embody their identity in Christ, experience life in His light, and share the gift of His light with the world.

1. Missional Illumination (Identity – Light for the Mind)
   We pursue excellence in scholarship by cultivating illumination—guiding students from ignorance to understanding, equipping them with critical thinking, and shaping theology that is academically rigorous and missionally engaged.

2. Missional Formation (Life – Light for the Heart)
   We nurture lives continually transformed by God’s light—shaping character, integrity, and Christlike maturity that overflow into mission, service, and faithful living.

3. Missional Calling & Reach (Destiny – Light for the World and Nations)
   We prepare graduates to carry Christ’s light into every sphere of life—equipping them to serve and transform communities, while extending the gift of Christ’s light without boundaries, multiplying leaders for Gospel impact across the U.S. and the nations.

Each value corresponds to our threefold framework of Missional Identity, Missional Life, and Missional Destiny, shaping enduring patterns in our students.

Truth: Patterns of Thought (Identity – Who We Are in Christ)
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
We believe truth exists, resides in Jesus Christ, and is revealed through Scripture and creation. At Lumina, pursuing and mastering truth is central to academic life, forming the foundation of our identity as children of the Light.
 
Transformation: Patterns of Heart (Life – How We Experience the Light)
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).
Jesus Christ transforms individuals. As a Christ-serving university, every aspect of Lumina is designed to cultivate life in the Light, shaping hearts that reflect God’s heart and lives renewed by His Spirit.
 
Testimony: Patterns of Action (Destiny – How We Share the Light)
“They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:11).
Our testimonies bear witness to Christ’s victory over sin and death. Lumina equips students with patterns of action—Spirit-empowered lives that carry the gift of Christ’s light into the world, bringing hope, salvation, and God’s glory to the nations.
